Even in the midst of stay-at-home orders, SPARC hams have re-discovered the real meaning of ‘red phase’ guidelines: buy delicious tomatoes at a farm stand just a stones-throw from our club house! If you’re looking for delicious fresh tomatoes this spring, look no further than “The Little White Milkhouse” at 1090 Hosler Rd, Manheim, PA 17543.

Participants on the 9am daily COVID Break net have been raving about these tomatoes for weeks. I thought it was just a joke, but these $3/pound greenhouse-grown Beefsteaks are really sweet and tasty. We’ve had members drive in from Columbia, Elizabethtown, Lititz, and Warwick Township all on the same day. How do I know? Hams are putting their callsigns in the receipt ledger! That’s a real special-event check-in. Don’t miss out, get there ASAP!

If you go: it’s a cash-only operation; pull into the long driveway and follow the fork to the right around the barn; park in the gravel on the right side of the barn and go into the door that has the plastic strips hanging down; they have plastic bags to bring home your precious red-gold.

PS: strawberries should be ready any day!
